Reports with CD or DVD

The results of imaging examinations may be accompanied by a digital medium containing a selection of images or videos. In these cases, the patient is given a CD or DVD that can be viewed on a computer. Below are instructions for use and contacts for support.

Reading Patient CDs and DVDs
Using a Windows-based PC:

  1. insert the CD or DVD into your computer’s player or burner;
  2. wait for the software, contained in the CD or DVD, to start automatically, in order to show the images associated with the exam;
  3. use this programme to analyse the images.

If the display software does not start automatically, one of the two procedures listed below can be followed:

  • Launch of the viewer.
    Identify the executable file of the program, recognisable by the extension “.exe”, among the files contained in the CD or DVD. Click on the executable file in order to start the software.
  • Viewing the images using a browser.
    You can use an ordinary web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, to view a selection of images, in JPEG format, contained in the CD or DVD. To do this, locate the file named “MainPage.htm” on the CD or DVD and open it.

For PCs equipped with other operating systems such as MacOSX, Linux, Solaris, it is generally possible to use a web browser (Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer) as described in the procedure. When available, you can use viewing software specific to the operating system used.
